Stargazing in the Grass - 3/8/22

Tonight was our first Park After Dark: Stargazing event of the year and it was a great turn out! We had 20 people and the clouds stayed away just long enough for us to see a very nice crescent moon and the Orion Nebula! In case you don't know, nebulae are huge clouds of gas and dust and are the birthplace of stars. This one is within the constellation Orion. The cloud you see in the middle of the picture is 24 light-years across and 1344 light-years from Earth! Next event is Tuesday, April 5th!
