The Starboard side mirrors have been latched which means, after 2 long weeks, James Webb is fully deployed!! This is truly an incredible feat! Ok, so what's next? James Webb is still not to its final observing point, L2. It will take another 14-15 days to reach it, so hopefully by January 22nd or 23rd. Then begins 5 months of continuing to cool the observatory, fine tune the mirrors, and calibrate the instruments. If everything goes well, we should see the first images by late June, that's when the real fun begins!!!
